Boeing Employee's Flying Club - St. Louis, Inc.

BEFC-STL

The Boeing Employees Flying Club - St Louis (BEFC-STL) is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Boeing Recreation Council. BEFC-STL exists for the purpose of allowing eligible persons to have the use of small aircraft for personal flying or to learn to fly. The association has two Cessna 172 aircraft available to its members at per-hour costs that are the lowest in the St Louis area. One aircraft is based at Creve Coeur Airport and one aircraft is based at Spirit Airport. To join the BEFC-STL, download the club application form, complete it, print it, sign it and send it to Mike Landgraf along with the $25 initiation fee (checks made out to "BEFC-STL"). Membership in the club is open to:

  • All current Boeing Employees and retirees,
  • Customer, Vendor and Government representatives stationed at Boeing who hold a Boeing identification badge, and
  • Certificated Flight Instructors approved by the Board of Trustees to instruct at BEFA

We have a list of approved flight instructors that can provide instruction in the club aircraft. Download the presentation on learning to fly to see what it will cost and what is required. Learn to Fly.

Initiation Fee, Membership Share, Dues, and Operating Costs

The following fees were approved by the Board of Directors:

  • $25 application fee (non refundable)
  • $750 share price (refundable)*
  • $100 monthly dues (Monthly dues will revert back to $80 when club membership reaches 30 active members).
  • Hourly Rate per aircraft:
    • N8716U based at Spirit - $56.45 per hour Wet. After your flight, contact Million Air (radio frequency 130.30 or phone 636-532-0404, identify yourself as a Boeing Flying Club member and that you need N8716U refueled in shadeport #48. The fuel will be paid directly from the club checking account. If you buy fuel on a cross-country, submit it for credit with your monthly payment. If the next person on the schedule is present and wants to fly the plane partially filled, that is their perogative as pilot-in-command and is OK. Without an agreement with the next pilot, the plane should always be refilled (notification of Million Air is fine, there is no need to wait on them).
    • N7766G at Creve Coeur - $20.00 per hour Dry. Each member to fill up and pay for fuel after each flight

* Any member may request to redeem only their shares paid in, plus assessments as approved by the BoD. No member may sell their share on the open market. The BoD may opt to hold onto share dollars until a replacement member can be established. Ownership Shares are all equal, even if the amount paid over time may change. Regardless, each owner is only entitled to what shares they paid in.

Insurance

The club has purchased a $1 million liability/full hull coverage insurance policy which covers each club member. There would be a $500.00 deductible for both non-moving incidents and in motion accidents.
