NOTICE The club purchased a 1979 Piper Arrow IV with new paint, leather interior, low time engine and great avionics with a Garmin 430 in Feb 2010. We are currently looking for 1 additional member. If you are interested in joining the C-172M/Arrow IV club, please fill out a club application or contact us for more information. The formal name of our association is the St. Louis Flying Club. The Club was incorporated under the laws of the State of Missouri on September 28, 1942. The clubs sole and principal objective is for the benefit, education and enjoyment of its members and to allow its members, at a minimum cost, to become proficient pilots. The Clubs Cessna C-172M and Piper Arrow IV aircraft are based at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport. Cessna C-172M The clubs Skyhawk is a 1975 172M model and was purchased by the club in 1980. The engine was overhauled by Poplar Groves Airmotive in June 2010. The C-172 has long range tanks with 48 gallons usable. The interior was completely redone in November 2003 and is in excellent condition. The exterior was newly painted in Sep 2007. ![]() Skyhawk Equipment
Piper Arrow IV The clubs Arrow IV is a 1979 model PA28RT-201. The Arrow IV has long range tanks with 72 gallons or can be filled to the tabs for 50 gallons usable. The leather interior was completely redone in 2004 and is in excellent condition. The exterior was newly painted in Mar 2009. ![]()

Membership Share Value A full membership share in the Cessna/Arrow club is $11,465. Contact the club for additional share information. Dues and Operating Costs The club dues are $125/mo. per full member and covers insurance, hangars, personal property tax, GPS database updates, and a fund for future aircraft improvements. The hourly rate for using the C-172M is $65/tach hr (wet) and the hourly rate for the Arrow IV is $87 per tach hr (wet). The hourly rate covers gas, oil, normal maintenance, annual, engine/prop overhaul. When there is a shortage of funds, as assessment will be issued to cover the expenses. Insurance There is a $1 million liability/full hull coverage insurance policy which names each member individually. There is a $200.00 deductible for both non-moving incidents and in motion accidents. The insurance requirements for the Arrow are as follows: "Any pilot maintaining a Private or more advanced pilot certificate who has demonstrated to the Named Insured's appropriately certificated flight instructor the piloting skill required for the aircraft being flown and who has flown a minimum total logged flying hours of 100 hours including either 25 hours in single engine aircraft with retractable or conventional landing gear and 5 hours in the make and model (Arrow IV); or in lieu of type time and make and model time, 10 hours of dual flight instruction in aircraft of the same make and model being flown including at least 15 takeoffs and landings while accompanied by an appropriately certificated flight instructor."
