From The President - By Steve

Dear Members,

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

It is good to see all the members and club planes flying. Whether it’s in pursuit of a new rating, a lunch fly-out, a Young Eagles event, or just some local flying there was a lot going on last month.

Thanks to our maintenance guys for quickly addressing any squawks. In addition to the routine maintenance I know the electric fuel pump was replaced in the RV and 2 servo’s in the Cessna. None were simple tasks.

I am happy to report interest in joining the club is still high and we have good candidates on our waiting list. I did 3 hangar tours last month with new applicants.

BILLING STATEMENT

Comments:

  • Thanks for the receipts.
  • Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

BALANCE SHEET

  • The funds are still tracking nicely. The Arrow maintenance fund would have been positive in the month but we had to invest in a new shoulder harness, which set the fund back slightly.
  • Cash is sufficient for the foreseeable future. We currently expect the January 2026 insurance payment to approximate $30,000, but we have another six months of flying to generate enough cash.
  • Thanks and please let me know of any questions or comments.

   Maintenance - by John

N202CR RV-7A

  • Electric Fuel Pump - The electric fuel pump was replaced in the RV on June 26th. Facet no longer makes the FAC-40109 pump design that was previously installed and the new Facet Pump FAC-40135 required added adapter fittings and modifications to shorten and flare two existing fuel lines. Ground and flight tests show the pump is working normally.

N20843 Cessna 172M

  • Autopilot Servos - On June 9th, the GSA-28 pitch trim servo failed on the Cessna. It was initially disabled to allow the Cessna autopilot to continue working with the Roll and Pitch Servos and manual trim. On June 18th, we received the overhauled Mod 1 GSA-28 servos from Garmin under warranty to replace both the Pitch Trim and Pitch Trim Servos. Even though the pitch Servo had not failed, we decided to replace it as the effort to remove all the parts and equipment to get back in the tail of the Cessna would only have to be done once.

N2242N Piper Arrow IV

  • Pilot Shoulder Harness - The new shoulder harness arrived and was installed in the Arrow on June 26th. The new shoulder harness did not come with a snap to hold the end fitting above the pilot window. We are planning to add a snap as soon as we find the correct size.
